Hello Maria - I stumbled upon this post via Pinterest. It was very helpful indeed. I am in the process of sewing a http://bluegingerdoll.com/products/the-betsy-pencil-skirt-paper-pattern.

I saw your post over at Hand of London re the Charlotte skirt and you mentioned that "it has awesome darts that angle and accentuate the curves (which I, sadly don’t really have that many of, so I like to pretend that I do). I have what you would call a pot-belly if I were a toddler."

I hear you! I think we must be twins! The Betsy skirt is similarly designed. I have no curves... yet I have a tum. Unfortunately I suffer from ibs (bloating) as well as having natural tum bulge to boot so this tutorial is greatly appreciated! THANKS! :)

Hi Maria
I loved your tummy adjustment tutorial, do you have any advice on the same adjustment for your Yasmin skirt? I have found a good tutorial on converting a dart skirt to a yoke (http://etherealland.com/tatterdemalion/2012/08/12/yokes-one-way-to-hide-darts/ ) but can't quite get my head round adjusting an existing yoke.

Hi Maria!
I am so grateful for this tutorial. I own the Charlotte skirt pattern for ages, but haven't sewn it because it was so wrong for my body. I have purchased the great majority of your patterns, because they are casual and elegant at the same time, but mostly because my figure resembles yours very much. Now, thanks to you, I might give this pattern a second look and finally see myself in a stylish pencil skirt.
