About the Yasmin Yoke Skirt

Yasmin Yoke Skirt is a slighly A-shaped skirt with cute rounded front pockets and yokes at front and back waist.

The shorter length, which ends just above the knees (47 cm in size 38), is designed to look great to wear with flat shoes, such as ballet flats or boots – great for a day at the market, for shopping or for chasing the kids around.
The longer length that ends just below the knees (54 cm in size 38) looks great with heels. It’s a true staple for a day at the office or for going out for lunch.

The skirt closes at centre back with an invisible zipper and is finished with a waist facing.

This pattern includes all sizes from 34 (hip = 90 cm/35½”) to 44 (hip = 106 cm/41½”). See image of size chart for further measurements.

Recommended Fabric

This pattern is designed for woven fabric with or without stretch. You will need about 110 cm fabric that is 140 cm (55″) wide.
If you choose to cut the facing from a different fabric, you’ll only need 90 cm of garment fabric (1 yard).
Choose a fabric with some stability (like denim, cotton, linen or twill) for a more pronounced A-shape, or a more drapey fabric for a softer look.

Additional Supplies

Fabric for the pocket lining – a soft lining or a remnant of poplin or soft cotton will be perfect. You need a piece that is about 25 cm x 50 cm.
Thread to match your fabric.
Interfacing for the yoke facing.
An invisible zipper 25 cm long.
Special tools needed: Invisible zipper presser foot. (If you don’t have one, it’s okay. There are plenty of tutorials online for setting in an invisible zipper without a speciality invisible zipper foot. Search for “invisible zipper with regular zipper foot”)
Zipper foot.
